Due to confidentiality agreement, I cannot disclose any mockups and research online. However, I can talk some of my experience from this project.
My Journey in Vertiv
In March 2020, a new chapter began for me. I joined as a UX designer with the pivotal task of shaping the ADX Platform software. This journey introduced me to remarkable teammates; their leadership and insights invigorated my spirit and expanded my knowledge.
Moreover, my collaboration with international colleagues, particularly those from the US, honed my skills in remote teamwork. These interactions provided invaluable insights and emphasized the essence of effective cross-border communication.
One of the foundational experiences at Vertiv was my collaboration with diverse teams. I worked hand-in-hand with our dynamic Product Manager, who with his vision and market insight, became my compass. I co-created with the Front-End and Back-End developer teams, whose coding prowess turned our design ideas into functional realities. This synergy was a revelation – it taught me that UX design wasn’t a solitary endeavor, but a dance of coordination, communication, and shared aspirations.
One unique challenge and learning curve was understanding the balance between firmware and software UX design. It's a fascinating intersection where the tactile world meets the digital. I realized that while software design focuses on aesthetics, functionality, and user flow, firmware design demands an understanding of the product's constraints and capabilities. It's about ensuring that the software interface seamlessly communicates with the tangible product, resulting in a unified user experience.
It was a great journey and very meaningful experience. From time management to multiple projects and executing the UX with limited design resource and finate time scale. Working with different design team has also improved me a lot to a great team player.
